Pallas’s Warbler

Pallas’s Warbler, photographed using my new Canon EF 400mm f5.6L lens.

It’s been a red-letter day for bird watching in Shetland. I’m quite new to birding, but today I was able to tick the following species:

• White’s Thrush
• Red-flanked Blue Tail
• Pechora Pipit
• Killdeer
• Pallas’s Warbler
• Yellow-browed Warbler
• Black-tailed Godwit

The first three / four birds on the list are especially rare (in the UK). To see one in a year would be great. To see all these in one day is quite special.
