Low Tide at Gulberwick
It’s been three months since my last post. In that time life in Shetland, like elsewhere, has changed considerably due to the impact of COVID-19. As with the rest of the UK, movement was restricted with the ‘lockdown’ announced on March 22nd. The rules were eased in Scotland on June 18th to allow people to travel for leisure within their local area, defined broadly as within five miles. And on July 3rd the five mile limit was lifted.
The photos that follow were taken during walks around my local area during this period of social distancing. There are 80 photos in total (which I’ll post over time). I hope they give a flavour of the varied scenes, wildlife, and flora of the area, recorded during this spring and early summer.
