Land of the Simmer Dim
This shot was taken at midnight last tuesday. The sun doesn’t reach its lowest point until 1am during British Summer Time, but I thought the amount of available light was remarkable. Two weeks after the longest day you could certainly read a newspaper outside at 12.30am. In Shetland we call this the ‘simmer dim’ - the twilight following the 19 hours of mid-summer daylight.
