Caspian Stonechat
One of the highlights of the trip to Fair Isle was seeing this photogenic Caspian Stonechat (Saxicola maurus variegatus), found by Fair Isle Bird Observatory warden David Parnaby back in late April. A subspecies of Siberian Stonechat, this bird is only the sixth record of Caspian Stonechat in Britain [*Fair Isle Bird Observatory Warden's Diary].
